At Collective Consulting Engineers, our range of services are as diverse as the project team’s we can field

Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health

At Collective, we bring buildings to life by way of designing Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) engineering systems. Our blend of experience coupled with an in depth understanding and manipulation of engineering principles we design systems to suit the occupant’s environmental needs. Whether it be cables, ducts or pipes, our aim is to produce functional, comfortable spaces that improve occupant’s wellbeing.

Energy & Sustainability

Environmental consideration, the efficiency of our systems energy usage as well as sustainable principles are at the forefront of our firm’s adopted design process.

As we have unprecedented levels of carbon increasing in our atmosphere, with around 40% of CO2 emanating from buildings and considering the world’s building stock is rising to support our planets ever increasing population, the environmental impact and performance of our buildings is of upmost importance to us at Collective Consulting Engineers.

Working in tandem with the Architect, we undertake methodical assessment that considers firstly the sites natural environmental parameters – sun path, seasonal temperature range, wind and water availability – all of which will impact upon the buildings form, fabric and facade. From this, we can look to make best use passive technologies such as the increase in natural light and ventilation whilst reducing the impact of solar gains. Finally, consideration is given to the use of efficient yet functional active MEP engineering systems and renewable technology in order to meet compliance with standards.

Utilities & Infrastructure Master Planning

Our Utilities and Master Planning team has been setup to directly support developers, local authorities and urban planners. Working alongside, or independently of, our MEP Engineering and Energy & Sustainability teams we look to provide value by way of site appraisal of existing utilities (Gas, Water, Electrical & Telecoms) infrastructure, initial utilities load assessment, as well as applications and engagement with district network operators.

We also offer a utilities infrastructure design service crafted to the site conditions which can then be tendered on behalf of the client, ensuring greater control and cost certainty over independent connection provider (ICP’s) / independent distribution network operator (IDNO) carrying out the works. Working together with wider teams, our service can provide robust costings pre-acquisition of land as well inform programming of enabling works prior to construction of the build.

Assets & Facilities Management

Our Asset & Facilities Management provide technical building services engineering advice to Building Surveyors, Facilities & Estate Managers, Developers and Investors. Our team works across all of accepted RIBA stages with our ultimate aim of extending the operational lifecycle of a buildings MEP systems through surveying, reporting on and putting in place plans that schedule maintenance of increasingly complex systems.

Our broad offering of services include pre-acquisition, condition and dilapidation survey reports through to compiling planned preventative maintenance plans and lifecycle costing, effective tendering, appointment and ongoing monitoring of contractors throughout their appointment. Our team work closely with MEP Engineers to provide quick turnaround on development projects and can advise on best practice to ensure your assets long term value.
